Sound project Level 1 START!!!

on tuesday we was introduced to Sabastian Muravchik. We was told to create a sound journey by thursday which is meant to be a 1min audio of a journey. Then next week we must have another soundtrack which will also have an extract 1min long.
Things that he made me think about were.
What is sound doing in  a scene?
Is it necessary?
What else could it do?
How could sound contribute to the story ?
do we need Digetic or Non Digetic Sound

Diegesis

Digetic Sound : Sound who's source is visible on screen
Non-Digetic sound: Sound who's source is neither visible on screen

Websites he gave us were
film sounds.org
freesound.org

Architecture of soundtracks :
Atmosphere, Ambience
Foreground,spot sounds and dialogue

We watched two extracts that showed us examples of Digetic and Non-digetic sound.
The conversation (1974)- opening
Blade Runner- Background sounds

we were given Tascan Recorders and told to walk around the university or outside if we wish to record ambience.

Final Photo

My image of how I love gaming and the music also complimenting my way of gaming.  Such as soundtracks that make racing online more intense. I spend a lot of time in my house so I sometimes miss what is going on outside and in the world.  Because Im so deep into my tv and games.
However when I get a chance to go outside I love to view pakour and started pakour in he summer which is extremely hard and exciting and has helped with my agility and improved my stamina a bit.  All of that wouldn't be possible without my gaming influences by assassins creed and mirrors edge.

This final photo is the feeling and emotion of my identity as i love gaming and music and through gaming i am able to connect with people around the world through online events community and building friendships and family through gaming.
What I like about this photo is that the focus is on the outside as the controller is the dark .
What I don't like about it is the framing of the photo

Identity Photo shot

We have been given the task of borrowing or using our cameras to photograph our personal items that have meaning to our own identity then pose with them in unique way that corresponds  with our identity.
I had chosen to bring in my ps4 controller and X-mini speaker.  As the ps4 controller represents my high love for games.  Also the speaker signifying my enjoyment of bass and rhythm.
I used a 700D cannon SLR camera for my photos of my objects and chose to use natural light instead of the suggested indoor lights and light kit.

Finding Vivian Maier

Today in the Begining of our Lecture we received technical difficulties.  Spending 30mins  adding sound to the video.  And while this was happening I searched on Google about the film and found :
It was rated 75/100 (metascore).
And on IMDb.com I saw a review from Rob Nelson stating " initially playful, ultimately haunting documentary".
Also that :
Released :17 April 2014
Director : John Maloof
Duration : 1hour 24mins
Oscar nominated 11wins 19 nominations.

This documentary was about how Jhon Maloof found in a storage locker negatives and images of Vivian Maier who was born in 1926 New York had died.
The woman had thousand if not hundreds of photographic images and negatives and they were to brilliant to just be thrown or fade away into dust.
Through his journey he was trying to figure out and uncover why she kept all this secret and how she was so unknown on the map.
Through this documentary I saw that this woman was a brilliant and yet also tragic individual with problems and skills that the world of her time could not understand.

Monday 14 September 2015

In our time we were told to show our images/videos/drawings of what we did over the weekend. and i  showed my video to my pets in which they did a Crit, where they commented and gave the pros and cons of the video.
the advise they gave was:
Narrate over the video
Add text or subtitles
And make the lighting brighter

The second artist we heard about was katy grannan who takes photos of the 'freaks of L.A.

                                                                                    katy-grannan-7.jpg

Another artist we were told about was Tarkovsy poloroids. Which we were passed round a book of his work. he's work interested me as the shots looked cinematic and the angles added depth and tone to each of the subjects, objects and establishments.

Polaroid by Andrei Tarkovsky from the book Instant Light: Tarkovsky Polaroids from Thames and Hudson

                                                                         Andrei Tarkovsky, Stalker (still), 1979.

Music Video

To slightly show identity i first though about what gives a person their identity and came up with the idea of the nature nurture theory of how a persons upbringing can determin the overall personality of the human being.
my identity is shown through my friends and family, since my feeling and view on life is bases on what I was taught and visually learnt by them all. I asked my neighbours to be in  a music video . as music is a way to express yourself physically while being visually stimulating to the audience. I made sure to add that I wanted no choreography , but they should be free and loose.
this is also why I chose the song Finna Get Loose by Finna Get Loose - Puff Daddy & The Family ft. Pharrell Williams.

Darran Ervin Intro
I am a soon to be world known film producer with the highest grossing films in all of man kind. Also I have a deep love for cars and manufacturers such as Ford,  also being a great loved of the colour blue. Therefore I shall be applying or merging Ideas in a for that expresses my enthusiastic power for them both.
Furthermore I also have a love for everything anime.  I'm a mainstream and low-key manga and anime watcher and I also bring what's on the screen and book outward to my social and private life.
But on stage one , I'm a student doing media production at Ravensbourne institute. On my first encounter of this building I was interested in the overall design of the shapes and chosen colour pallet.  And only recently realised the shapes are in the actual logo of the university.
My peers to a visit to  art museums and gallery  the v&a ,  photographers gallery. Where they was visually caught in  exhibitions that were displayed. Although I was not able to attend the visit.  I will make it my objective to see the inspiring art and pieces that were shown. I will be using a 700D cannon SLR camera for my photos and films.  Having experience in the rules of film e.g 360 degree angles etc.  I will be merging my knowledge with my current project on the meaning of "Identity".

DAY 1

I was introduced to Tom or course leader or manager or 'the man' who is in charge or Foundation media.  On the dirt look he was a relax and interesting adult and seems like he's always happy and loves his job, however he would take care of his students and values his course highly.  He advised us to create Blogs on BLOGGER and also to change or email address password,  also moodle.  Which looks quite messy and very boring with its layout and not very appealing to me and other students.

9th September 2015 Outgoing adventure

With all these cafes restaurants and fancy places to dine.  I will try to make it my mission to sample a dish from each restaurant from today till the end of this term.
First was subway
Subway (stylized as SUBWAY) is an American fast food restaurant franchise that primarily sells submarine sandwiches (subs) and salads.
I began my taste buds adventure with a classic BMT 6 inch sub with lettuce, cucumber and southwest sauce.  The overall taste and flavor of the sun reminded me of a takeout pizza
